My battery went weak, the car refuse to start, I new its the battery as it was 8 years old and was coming for some time.
He says no double connections. After he and one of his techs convinced me,... I 1-had the wrong battery issued by factory in the car(Aperage on these cars must be more), and 2) he guarantee the simple method will work as the manual said.
He ordered the expensive battery, and on arrival they came out to my home.

When sellers speak of "expensive " my BS antennae begins to twitch.

Old versus New battery
############## They probably both expensive in my books, but on 2nd thought My DSL battery cost about as much and is a fraction of the size.
Old Battery:
First National Battery
A 000 982 22 08
12V 84Ah 700A (EN)
New Battery:
Varta F19
12V 85AH 800A (EN)

It looks like the new F19 is a flooded type but no doubt will do the job for many years.
They are about A$100 cheaper than the AGM in Australia

Having the battery be incorrect FROM THE FACTORY with all the internal quality controls has to be virtually impossible. If it were incorrect chances are you would have had other problems long before eight years. I would have to question the ability of your mechanic on that. How did he determine that?
Lets see if it outlast the car for any major breakdowns. if my car can make it for another 8 years without major breakdowns I'll be happy, it should go 300 000Km easily, I mean my Mazda did it and still going well(regular oil changes etc).

Could you please elaborate as to why? I'm going to guess it's because the power lead no longer has power when the car is off, right?
If so, can't you just splice out those cables (on the adapter thing) until you get a positive line and a negative line?
Then once you have that - same idea. Connect one to the positive lead and one to the negative lead. Same idea - job done.
But yes, to your point I don't think it'd work either, but thought I'd ask for clarification to see if we're (at least for once) on the same wavelength here

I bought one. Totally useless and did not work and yes, the battery supplied with it was fine.
I returned it and resetting radio presets and the clock takes about 2 min anyway so no big deal.

they work on some cars fine (esp older ones). Another way is to power it through the OBD port, which i dont think is a good idea either.
(not directed towards SaP) is it that big a deal to reprogram radio stations?
remove old battery with car off, install new battery.
