Anyone selling headers?
hey, everyone!
when I initially purchased my c300 a few years back I noticed there were a bunch of headers on the market, mbh, obx, etc...
since my car has been out of warranty, I have been on the look out for headers--with no luck. Both obx and mbh seem to not make them anymore.
I was really hoping I could find a used one here? Or if anyone had any suggestions--other than custom building them.
if anyone has any, please let me know!
-all the best,
Garrett

If they are not manufactured anymore, it would lead me to believe that they were junk and the welds broke. I wouldn't be surprised wih OBX..

All I want is a little bit more power. My goal is to try to get 300 to the ground. The car drives well; just wish it pulled slightly harder on the straights.
My plan was to build my 3.0l-- slightly larger injectors, long tube headers, weistec cams, y-pipe with 2.25 inlets to a single 2.5 (or 3") outlet to a single borla racing muffler; with a tune to correspond of course.
I went so far as to look up possibly doing a 6-speed manual swap, c63 Carbon driveshaft, and c63 LSD--maybe one day....
Good luck finding the headers! If I find out anything, I'll be sure to let you know!

With a eurocharged tune on 93 oct you are at about 270hp, x-pipe res delete ~+10, 2nd cat delete ~+5; if you TUNE for the exhaust mods it opens up about 5 for both, giving you about 295. This is based on gains I have read from old threads on here and benzworld, and I didn't realize it then but I should have bookmarked the pages to have a reference.
If you run 91 oct tune you're gonna have a harder time getting to those numbers.
On the kleeman website they sell headers; the kit together (tune, etc) brings it up to about 310hp on 91 I believe for the c350. Something like that. These are of course pre-facelift numbers, non DI. I'm also sure that they're all short headers so not gonna have the same gains as LTH.

About 260hp/250tq* not 270* on just tune for C300 on 93 octane, totalling about 285*.
Basically if you put the tune on and you're stock, you'll have those numbers. If you do muffler delete, for example, and you're stock, the ECU doesn't account for the loss in back pressure so you actually lose some HP. When you tune for it, the ECU accounts for it and muffler delete is recognized, therefore you gain hp because of free air.
X-pipe/2nd cat delete are lighter variants but free up hp so there is not a loss, but very LITTLE gain unless you tune for them, then their full potential is opened up.

I've been trying to dig up some headers as well. Seems Kleemann is only ones I can find that are still listed to sell. Wish I was around with my w204 when MBH did a run for them, still have C300 W204 listed but nothing there sadly.
Looks like if someone did run into something about some a few may be interested. I know I plan to wait a little while as I do some of my cosmetic mods and OE tuning said it would only be like $100.00 when I do get headers for a re-tune. As long as at least Kleemanns can be found that's what our options are I'd say.
