i have a w 203 c 180 2001 modle , and it shows engine light , when i got it checked with someone the codes show air mass sensor error, i need suggestion should i buy a new sensor or should i get the old one cleaned first and see if it works , or i want to know does it works after cleaning with the sensor cleaner ?

If the sensor element is dirty or contaminated, yes, the cleaner works. And you can only find out if you try! Otherwise you may have to replace it
