w203 no ignition no turning key problem
Hi every one and sorry for my bad English
When I insert key to rotate and start the engine everything works fine but after doing it several times(3 -5) the key don't turn, I just checked everything I can do like ( key battery voltage , IR , car battery voltage , SAM voltage and wiring , ecu , eis and all the fuses and etc , everything works fine but there is a problem with ESL lock and that is it's always on unlock mode and don't turn when car goes to shut down mode and I checked motor and relay and all the electronic components works fine.
if you want to say take car to repair shop for obd testing and deeper test unfortunately there is no one in my country and I just what to make sure my car just working for long travel ( from Iran to Georgia) for repair shop. so please help me what is possible problems for my car situation.
by the way I squeezed the EIS wires and the key something works and I checked all the EIS wires to other end and it's seems fine too.
thanks for any help.

When the key won't turn as you say, do you hear a Woer-Sound as the key was entred into the slot.-?
I had the case where the Woer-Sound went missing when key was inserted, it however could turn, speedo came on etc, but car wont start. This was the cheaper repair of replacing the steering lock, however a pain to get the keys working by dealer again(security).

Could be an ESL failure. See lots of this on here lately.
Funny thing when Ibought my car I researched a bit and found the ESL issue was common. Dealership flat denied any sort of ESL issues when I asked about it and I was told they have never seen one.
Complete BS! The only other guy I know that has a Mercedes, his 2009 C Class had an ESL failure 2 months after they bought the car from the same dealer I bought from. It was also their sales manager that sold both of us the cars. He flat out lied to my face about ESL issues.
I am just waiting for mine to fail. My 2008 only has 65000 kilometers on it so I should be safe for another 20,000 Kilometers before the ESL will self destruct on me.

If you were able to run through all the checks you mentioned in your first post, then you are more than capable of removing ESL and either shipping it somewhere for repair or making an attempt to contact Mercedes Benz with proof of ownership of the vehicle which is required before they will ship you a replacement ESL. To your advantage, and if you are correct thag ESL ILis not locked, this makes it much easier to remove from the steering column, compared to one that is in its locked state.
Either way, I would not attempt to drive the vehicle anywhere unless this problem is fully repaired because if ESL were to suddenly activate, and if it goes to its locked state and then freezes up, you could be stuck somewhere that you don't want to be.
Good luck...
