2005 c240 engine won't shut off
The wiper arm broke and then the check Alternator light came on the message board.
Pulled over and parked to assess the wiper and tried to shut off the car. Pull the key out and it continued to keep running. Ultimately, I had to pull the emergency stop engine fuses.
Anyone have an idea of what's going on?

Thanks! I will try that. So you think it is that and not the Alternator? Would that make the Alt message come on?

The alternator does not turn while the engine is not running---Your post suggest that you can't turn the engine off----have I missed something!

No, you are correct. I was thinking that Alt ran all the time while engine on.

I will replace Ignition Module. Thanks
