80,000 Service Time

I just took my 2012 C300 4MATIC with 76,000 miles to Mercedes of North Olmsted (Cleveland), Ohio for a due "B Service." The dealer said it's time for it's 80,000 mile service which is one of the most costliest. He quoted me $1,500 but said he has a coupon that will take $200 off. I gave him my MBCA card which should give me extra discounts on parts for the service. He said "with the coupon and your discount, I should be able to work something out with the manager to get you a good deal."

That's all well and good but I am still anticipating a bill of at least $1,200. Is this normal for an 80,000 mile service on a 2012 C300 4MATIC or I am just being taken or a ride?

Any help is appreciated!

It is probably $500 for an oil change/B Service, $500 for a transmission service and $200 for a brake flush + tax. Everything is definitely needed, but that is at dealer prices, it should cost less than $800 elsewhere.

I do my own A/B service. The last prices I paid for parts on Amazon was:

Mobile1 0W-40 Euro Formula: $26.99
Mahle Oil Filter Kit Cartridge - Fleece Media: $14.32
MAHLE Original LX 2813 Air Filter: $20
MAHLE Original LAK 413 Cabin Air Filter: $23.22

I'm even considering doing the cabin filter on all the changes as they start to become ineffective around 15K miles.

That's $41.31 for the A portion and $84.53 total for the B service. I can't even imagine where the $500 goes for that at the dealership.

If you need to get tools there would be an upfront cost of about $100 for a torx set, 22 mm socket and oil extractor.

An independent Mercedes shop quoted me somewhere around $100 for the brake flush. That and especially the transmission service are not an easy DIY.

Transmission oil, air filter, brake fluid need to replace @ 80k miles.

I too do all my routine services myself, except for the transmission service. I'm at 60k miles, so I need brake fluid change and probably delay the spark plug change until 80k miles

Find a good independent that specializes in European cars. Much more cost effective.
