722.9 transmission leaking

Does anyone out there know what common problems I should look into for fixing a leaking 722.9 transmission?

Ive already done the recommended transmission service because I thought it was the pan gasket but its not. The breather valve is not leaking either.

Also, there is no sign of where the ATF is leaking from. Its spewing out from somewhere but impossible to tell from exactly where. It's pissing out so bad the underpart of the car is soaked. seems to only happen when I'm using the tip-tronic shift

Any helpful information will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Mo

A transmission is a very long thing covering hundreds and hundreds of parts.

I think what would be helpful other than telling us there is a leak is other info such as...

1) Where is the leak? I know you don't really know, but gravity only goes one way. Try and isolate the source of the leak by figuring out the high point and taking... (#2 below)
2) Photos?
3) Any symptoms that you feel outside of the leak in the tranny?
4) What did you do to cause the leak?
5) Has this happened before?
6) Any other relevant info?

I would suggest asking yourself this. If you told someone you were bleeding, and that's all they said, what other questions would you ask to figure out what the issue is?

You'll have to use some sort of grease cleaner, spray it on, hose it off, or better yet, use a pressure washer it, wait until it all dries, take the car for a spin, get under it and look around.

Are you sure it's transmission oil? fluids can travel far with the under carriage creating a sort of a wind tunnel under the car.

As stated above, clean all of the transmission fluid from the undercarriage. It may be a chore, but it will be well worth it.

Place the car on jack stands and pay attention to the pump.

The Transmission Plug Adapter was known for leaking on the 722.6 transmission. Around $20 for the part. I don't about the 722.9 transmission.

Hi guys! New w204 owner here and I got a leak from the trans as I can tell these shifts are trans problems. I immediately set the car apart to the side and I'm going to lift it up tomorrow but from what I see its most likely just the gasket as it's a very small leak. The shifting isn't terrible but for me, its noticeable enough to tell the leak is a trans one. Does anyone have a clue what I should do? Can I just do a simple trans service to fix this with a flush and new gaskets?

If it was my car, I'd clean the entire area, let it dry. Then, after driving for couple of days, I'd go under the car with a flashlight and try to identify the source of the leak. Without finding the source of the leak and saying "I will just do the service and hope to fix the problem" is not a good way to fix the leak.
