C220 CDI Aux Battery Malfunction
Hi all,
Tried to research this over the last few weeks, my father's 2014 C220 has this message. Was in red, then in white. Then the message disappeared for a few days and now it is back.
His previous W211 E class had a similar fault and it did have an aux battery that we changed and problem solved. This one doesn't sound so straight forward!
We can't find an auxiliary battery and a post online referes to a capacitor for the stop/ start function. His logbook says "type =204", am I correct to assume this is a W204? Or could it be a W205? What's the best way to tell? It's logbook date is sept 2014 and seems be on an overlap between the 2 models.
The capacitor/ voltage convertor has part number 2059053414. Does anyone have any information about this part? Mainly interested in if it is a plug in unit or needs soldering and if we can cause any other issues when we change it.
Hopefully I'm not barking up the wrong tree thinking it's the capacitor, all help appreciated
Many thanks
RobK
