W204 headlights replacemnt
Hi there
I replaced the headlights on my W204 but now i get the following error: "Active light system inoperative". From what i understand, the new headlights have cornering feature while the old ones don't. Is this a software or hardware problem?

Yes, i replaced both headlights without knowing that they are ils. I read on some forum that the SAM unit has to be reprogrammed or even replaced. They work ok but don't turn left/right and that message appears on the display.

I won't even ask what the windshield has to do with the headlights. Anyway, i searched for the part number of the headlights and it says "with cornering function" so i don't really know if it's true ils.

I think that has to do with the sensors for the auto high beams. But that might be if you are going for full ILS functionality.
