For what its worth. Our E430 has 170k (miles)now and still on the original brakes and a lot of pad left. My wife drives this car mostly aggresive city driving. A case for genuine Mercedes pads.

Agree, but OE in w04 are **** to be honest. They put "Delphi" everywhere in this car. Not sure about other car markets but in UK I just managed to replace my brakes (by myself).

No special tools required apart of the standard ones (keys 9mm 18mm and the tool to stretch the brake clippers.

In my case I could buy Delphi or Eicher for £60 (per pair of discs) and have corroded discs after 1month as I had before (plus uneven breaking surface) or spend £85 on eBay and get proper Brembo's.

I got Brembo and I am super satisfied (paired them with Mintex brake pads which are cheap but still a class higher than Delphi)

I have to say that it feels good to have completed the breaks with the help of a buddy. I'm glad there are how-to videos online and such wonderful folks here to assure me that I don't have to pay the dealer to do maintenance. you folks saved me $460. thanks much.

Right on Beaver. Brakes are easy.

I'm doing mine in the spring.
