Power tailgate s204
My power tailgate on my 2009 c-class saloon have stopped working. I've checked the fuse but it's intact. I can hear the lock on the tailgate open when I push the button but then it's all quiet. Then I open it manually and push the close button but nothing happens. But if I push and hold the close button while I close the tailgate the motor engages and freezes halfway down. Does anyone have any idea on what's going on with my tailgate?

I'm sorry, my car is an estate, not a saloon. In my desperation of getting an answer quickly I started the thread without reading what I had written.
