2013 C250 Carfax and Trade In
Purchased a used 2013 C250 April 2016 (first luxury car) and even though I love the car, my work commute unexpectedly got longer and I need a change. Went to get my car appraised last weekend and found out there was damage to the rear reported from Oct 2013 but Carfax did not start reporting this information until July 2017. Dealer dropped the amount on my appraisal due to this.
Attempted to contact the dealer I purchased the car from and they advised me to contact Carfax. Has anyone has this happen or have any advice on what to do in this situation?

2) Inform the dealer you bought the car from that you seek damages to the tune of $x due to negligent misrepresentation. Then, if they refuse to help you out, threaten and/or go to small claims court to seek recovery for your damages.

Happened to me on a Nissan I bought one time. Basically the exact same situation. Was shown a "clean" Carfax when I bought it and when I traded it for my 2007 C230 I was notified that it had damage before I bought it. Went ahead and did the deal. Figured it was my word against the dealer word so I just let it drop. Won't ever buy another vehicle from this dealer and tell everybody to not buy from them.

This happens all the time, sorry to hear that. just because carfax says nothing don't mean anything, tons of cars don't get reported timely or at all to don't take carafe 100%. happened to a friend of mine, they didn't do a real good job either.
