Hey guys I'm new to the forums but I'm currently in a bit of a situation. I got a used C300 sport about 4 months ago and racked up about 3000 miles during that period. Yesterday I noticed a noise coming from the top left of my engine and have no idea what it is. I will be taking it to a mechanic but was hoping someone had this previous problem or knows what it is so I don't get ripped off...

It almost sounds like a clicking kind of noise. I actually hear a similar noise in my car but who knows what it could be. Are you hearing the noise when you are in park, drive, reverse or neutral? I usually hear mine when I am either in drive or reverse. It seems pretty similar to mine and I would like to see what other people think before bringing it to the dealership. Always better to be armed with knowledge before making a trip to the stealership.

I hear this noise mostly on cold startups, it slows down and gets less intense when it warms up, upon further research people have been saying the it's DI fuel injectors (look up on YouTube) but I don't really know. And you're absolutely right, the dealership will just have me buy a new engine it's ridiculous

It sounds completely normal to me. It is a DI car after-all. Even my car makes that noise.
