Buying a C Class advice
My name is Karolina and Im from the UK, after searching for a while I have finally found my dream C class. I love the exterior look of the C class with an AMG package hence I picked this car.
However my car knowledge is zero to none and Ive heard people around me that I should stay away from this specific car I have laid my eye on.
The car is a 2012 facelift C250 CGI with an AMG package. Always maintained at the dealership with full dealer history.
However the car has around 120 000 miles on it now.
Should I stay away from cars with high mileage? I do really love the car and the dealer says there is nothing wrong with the car since it has always been maintained at the same dealership. However some friends of me are telling me other things as that the car wont last long anymore etc.
Hope some of you guys can share some experience or give me some advice
With kind regards,
Karolina

That is the risk you take buying used. I however plan to take mine to at least 155k miles (1st MB high mileage award). Unless it gets totalled in an accident, I have zero doubts it'll get there.
If it has good service records and the price reflects the mileage I wouldn't see any major issues cropping up. However keep in mind it's a turbo and you have no idea how previous owners drove it. Also i think that one is direct injected if I'm not mistaken, some say to steer clear of those but I have no experience as I have heeded that advice and stayed clear of direct injected vehicles.
If you find some with lower mileage and same price range those tend to be better due to less wear on parts but at the same time high mileage is not a killer. I have a C280 from 1997 with 135k miles on it and no intention on getting rid of it anytime soon. I also have a 2008 C300 that is holding strong so far that I just recently purchased having 70k miles on it. Also, you do mean miles not kilometers right? 120k km is nothing in my book compared to 120k miles.
There are always risks buying used and for that matter even buying new you never know what may crop up.
I would maybe still recommend you test drive it and take it to another dealer to do a PPI(pre-purchase inspection) just to let another set of eyes look at it and verify it's condition.
Also another factor is will you be buying it with a warranty or extended warranty? I'm guessing it is a CPO?
I buy my used cars with a gut feeling, but there is always risk of buying used and you have to weigh the odds. Some cars with high mileage will last forever still, some cars with low mileage have been a headache since they rolled off production line.

Later years, or the 300/350 older/newer are going to be more reliable.
Also knowing how to fix stuff yourself saves you a ton of money on these cars...up to you tho.
This is my first Mercedes so I dont really have any experience myself.
Thanks everyone
We havnt replaced anthing other than the normal wear and tear parts such as breaks etc.
Not sure about how long the turbo will last but the car has 200.000 km plus and has zero problems.
A friend of me has the 200cgi with around 300 000 kms on it and the turbo is still going strong too, so as long the previous owner took care of the car and you will too( warm up the car first before flooring it, cool down the turbo for like 1 min before shutting off the engine) I dont see any problems with buying a 'high mileage' car
