Salvaged c63 Worth it?
I was looking around and found a salvaged c63 for 7000$, it has 93xxx miles and has hail damage. I am always looking for a project and was wondering should I attempt to save for it?

No offense, but didn't you just mention in another thread that you can't afford mods because you just lost your phone? If you can't afford "mods" because of a lost phone, how is anyone going to take you seriously regarding a project car?
As for your question "Is it worth it?"...based on the information you gave us so far, my sincere answer is NO.

I doubt those are the only issues for that car...
Also, keep in mind you may find that many insurance companies only offer limited coverage for salvaged cars, or won't insure them at all. Some insurers will only offer you liability coverage, which protects you if you're at fault in an accident and injure someone else or damage their property. They may not be willing to provide comprehensive coverage, which protects you in the event of damage to your car that isn't due to an accident. It would cover things such as theft, vandalism or damage from a natural disaster. You also may be unable to obtain collision coverage, which covers your vehicle if it's damaged in an accident.
If you do get insured, your insurance rates will increase dramatically. They will probably have your rates set similar to a C63 without damages.

Answer to your question is NO. It likely has more significant issues than the hail damage. So unless you have deep enough pockets to handle potentially significant re-build costs, this isn't a good deal.

I hope the hail damage fixed the headbolts.
Imagine the crash situation with a 4XXhp c63...you would have totalled that ****. Then again its not like the title of the car would change lmao.
Actually you know what, you should ask the people in the c63 section, they know best!

...even worse. A project car should NOT be your one and only car. This may be ok for a business owner of a shop who wants to work on the car on the side, but later plans to flip it.

Thanks, there is a reason I bring my stupidity onto this thread. Just want to not make stupid decisions, and want to see what others think on them.

Does it have a salvage title BECAUSE of the hail damage or is the IN ADDITION TO the hail damage? Either way it doesn't sound good. I am guessing it is the latter, so it could have a number of mechanical or electrical issues to address and that can add up to big money quickly even if you would do the work yourself. Then you would still have to address the hail damage. This has too many possible strikes against it to make economic sense. And, like someone else mentioned, the insurance could be a big pain as well. Plus, keep in mind this car will require routine maintenance and probably a few things will break from time to time. Then it could be a problem trying to sell the car down the road. You could easily be working 24/7 at the Publix with no social life just to keep the car on the road if/when things break or need maintenance....maybe. And if something happens and you can't afford to fix it you would be stuck without a car. If you are prepared for those scenarios go for it. Seems like the possible negatives far outweigh the positives. Save yur money.

Alfadude made the same point I was going to respond with.
If the hail damage is the only thing that gave the car a salvage title, it may be worth it - but this is almost impossible to verify.
If you don't entirely care about the cosmetics & have the means to gradually fix those as you go along, it might be "fun".
I would say it's worth it only if you're hunting for parts. Not as a daily.
A higher upfront cost on another car will easily pay dividends down the road through ownership & when it comes time to sell it.
Nobody looks at salvage titles when it comes to used cars of this caliber.
Also, C63 is a pig on gas.

For 7000$ if it runs and drives then yea. I dont understand why people are so afraid of salvage vehicles in USA. There are people that get into worse accidents then hail for example but they just dont go thrugh insurence and fix the car and they still have clean title. If it looks good and drives good as well i dont see why not. No one will know that its salvage lol. Another thing when you get salvage car just ask for inaurence apraisal, this document will show you exactly why ur car got salvage title.

If its the one on canadian Copart for 7k right now I wouldn't get that one, it says hail" damage but the from bumper is a c300 bumper and barely on, it also says secondary damage is front damage so my guess is that they are hiding something big under the bumper which is typical for auctions.I would look for a cleaner project, even the engine bay looked pretty used and not really cared for.
Im also looking for a crashed c63 to show up so, I am also looking into building a c63, probably just swap it in a clean c class body but sometimes its best to be patient and wait for a good deal.
