Facelift display screen removal

I'm trying to remove the LCD display screen on my Facelift 2013 C300 to install a backup camera (I've already removed the COMAND head unit). I've seen a Youtube video of how to remove the LCD screen and followed that procedure. Removed the bottom and top trim pieces, and the two small plastic covers on each side of the screen--no problem. I loosened the two screws on either side of the screen (as per the video instructions--didn't remove them completely), then started to remove the plastic piece that covers the screen and the instrument gauge bezels. On the video, the screen comes out attached to that plastic cover as one piece. On my car, the plastic cover separated from the screen and the screen absolutely won't budge from where it sits in the dash. It's like it's fused in there. I'm afraid if I keep pulling on the plastic cover, it'll break. So far, I've only been able to find that one DIY video (3:06 minutes). If anyone has done this before, any help would be greatly appreciated.

You don't need to remove the display, all you need to remove is the COMAND to access the back of it.

I have to get it out somehow. I can’t seem to re-install the plastic bezel that covers it.

That kit requires you to remove the connection on the back of the display and add a new connector. No way to do that without removing the display. The OEM cable that you disconnected, connects to the new hardware interface.

Been there, done that... Kit did not work for me.

Not sure why anyone with COMAND which is already capable of camera would get a kit which was probably $200+ when you can get a $20 camera through Amazon Prime that looks OEM quality.
