Will cello case fit in trunk
Hello, I'm entertaining the idea of a 2011 c300 4matic. My daughter plays the cello and the case it is 54" long. Do you think this will fit diagonally in the trunk can someone please measure?

Can't measure now....and it's not just the length but width. HOWEVER....you can rest knowing the W204 rear seats fold down. So even if it doesn't fit with everything up, I can almost guarantee it'll fit when down.

I would guess it will not fit in a 204. My wife plays too and the hard case just barely fit in a w211 e-class trunk, a car that is a good bit larger than the c-class.

Proof that you can't always believe what you read on the internet.

I think it might be very tight if the rear seats are up, assuming you have fold down rear seats. Depends on the exact shape of those dimensions. My bag of golf clubs will barely fit diagonally with the seats up and I am not sure that the clubs and bag are that long. Why not just take the case with you to a dealer and check?

That's odd. I just measured the spouse's hard case for her 4/4 (full size) cello and it is only 53" tall - less than you have specified for your daughters smaller cello. A 4/4 cello is 48" tall, a 3/4 cello is 3 inches shorter.
The 53" case was so tight in an e-class trunk that I cannot believe there is any way you will fit a larger case in a smaller c-class trunk. You need to make sure that either the car has the fold down rear seats or that it's a station wagon.

TBH I did not see this as an option when I was ordering the car. Perhaps it became standard in face-lifted C350s.
I can confirm the cargo hold down D-rings, as I paired it with a cargo net (wouldn't live without it).
EDIT: As I recall, there were a number of items standard in the C350 that was an "option" in the C300. I do not recall the list off-hand, but I do remember using that point to help justify the upgrade to the 350.
