Winter Driving
I recently purchased my first Mercedes. I was curious as to what other drivers thought of how the 4 Matic handles on snowy roads? I live in PA and our crazy winters are fast approaching. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Remember, 4WD/4-Matic will mainly help you get to speed. It won't help you stop or avoid a ditch.

Then again, you get what you pay for with tires so keep that in mind.
My old set I'd say was 4/32's last winter, stock contipro's and I used them in the winter. Embarrassed a lot of drivers in SUV's who thought they would start faster than me (was not racing; just them trying to pass me at a light). I'd say that because of the characteristics of the car, it handles really well in the snow, better than most SUV's. Although, ground clearance I assume could be an issue, but I don't think we ever got more on the roads than half a foot of snow at once on the roads.

Yes, don't be the guy who buys 1, 2, or only 3 winter tires. (lol)

Lowered plus all around lips reduce my ground clearance to around 5-6 inches. I can barely get on an alignment rack.
