2012 C250 - Jerk/jolt when approaching a stop

Hi, I have a 2012 C250 1.8L 4 cyl+turbo auto tranny RWD, 85,000kms and still has some extended warranty. When I approach a red light or stop, as I am braking, the car jolts when it changes gear. It feels almost like I slammed on the brakes but I am actually applying consistent pressure on it. I noticed that its more apparent when the engine is still warming up. I've read that an ATF fluid or TCU flash might help this? Anyone know if anyone know which is likely the case? It only does this when I slow down (downshift), it's fine when up-shifting. Want to try and avoid warranty or MB dealer if possible to save it for something more serious.

Thanks!

WHY???? If the car still has some warranty, take it to the dealer and have it taken care of to avoid anything more serious in the future.

My guess is that the OP has an extended warranty that gets refunded (or partially refunded) if it doesn't get used at the end of the term (I've seen these types offered before).

Along those lines. My warranty is for 2 years but if I don't put in a claim at the end of 2 years I can extend it further. I figured it would make more sense if I had the warranty when the car is older and the repairs are more serious.

Hi there, did you ever found out what was the problem? I have a 2012 C200 with the same issue and can’t figure out the problem.
Thanks
