W204 fuel temp sensor fault

Mine was showing fuel temp sensor fault replaced the sensor but stil same fault and engine check is on
The electrical line between components 'B50(fuel temperature sensor )' and N3/9'(CDI control unit)' has an open circuit or short circuit to positive.
That's my fault showing

I have same problem. no engine managment light. I have mercedes c220 w204 diesel. 2.1l 2007 reg. Past few months it has been making weird sound and idle in cold. Especially after driving then cooling it down for 3-4 hrs. I have taken for diagnostics which showed p2054 B50 (fuel temperature sensor)the electrical line between components B50(fuel temperature sensor) and N3/9 (CDI control unit) has an open circuit to positice. I have changed temp sensor but still same. Mechanics suggested it could be injectors, common rail. But this suggestions will cost me over £1500. Please can anyone help or had same issue. Have you sort it out? what was it? is it wiring issue and what exactly please?

Error message related to 2054-007 states: “The fuel temperature sensor on line to B50 is open circuit or shorted out” or similar. In my case the sensor still had about 1.6 kOhm resistance and 3 kOhm seems to be recommended, but anyway, I changed the part and have no more problems.

Take those fat air pipes off so you can see and work on the fuel temp. sensor. Pull out pin of clip RH side, remove (twist) pin in middle and on LH side squeeze edges in at connection to air filter pipe. Have new part ready from Aliexpress for $25. Ask Dr Google for photos of location of sensor. Remove electrics. Take 19mm tube spanner out of your plumbing kit or use a very deep socket as 19mm ring is not easy to use as there is no room. Install new sensor, suggestion is 23 Nm torque.

No more 2054-007 error on diagnostic or similar. No more “Engine Fault” light on just before your next service is due!

This error is also allied with the 2054-00 error: "The analogue/digital converter of the CDI control unit N3/9 is faulty" - not so. Your ECU is not stuffed. The software has no clue if it is the temp. sensor or the chip in the ECU converting the temp. sensor’s analogue signal to digital, so it lists both.

It must be a comedian who is suggesting “Ozone Sensor” for this error and paying Google, as Mercs may have two oxygen sensors in front and back of the catalytic converter, but definitely no ozone sensors!
