Interior Cosmetic Damage Help!

Hello all,

I recently purchased my first car ever, a Mercedes C250 2012. I got a good deal on it as the previous owner knew nothing about cars and there was a slight problem with how the car ran when I first bought it which I narrowed down to spark plugs. I fixed it myself with the help of a friend and it only cost me $60! I got quoted at several mechanics and they all estimated the cost at around $200-$350.

Anyways, the car is in good condition however, during the past 1-2 months I’ve had it, several interior cosmetic damage (which were already there before however not as bad) began to appear. I have attached the images below.

What can I do to fix this? Can I fix them myself? If so, does anyone know a good place I can buy replacements at? Do I have to go to the Mercedes dealership for this?

Descriptions of cosmetic damage:
-Steering wheel buttons tore off / replaced with sticker decals
- Window Buttons also tearing off / some replaced with sticker decals
- Huge tear on leather drive seat

wow... that's by far the worst condition 5-6 years old I've ever seen.
All those items you've listed, you'll need to purchase them through dealer or online. All of them are fairly easy to replace.

That IS crazy. Interesting on the steering wheel how every button is affected, except for the two center inside ones; the phone hangup and the right arrow, while the other buttons right next to it are ll flaked off. Plus, that seat where the finish is just peeling off is something I have never seen. Wonder if there was some kind of dressing or chemical that might have been used at one time to cause that. That can't be from the heat/sun as everything would be affected the same. Or maybe the previous owner used some kind of hand cream or lotion that would eat away at that stuff. Very odd.

That's insane, my 2008 with 250k is like new compared to this thing lol. I dont know how well the stickers really work, I would just scout ebay for used buttons and get them one by one, they come up cheap if you're patient. Im still waiting for a seat bottom to show up, you can can just replace the bottom part, no need for the whole seat to be replaced.

Also look locally for people parting out their c class, those are the best to get combo deals.

Yeah.. fortunately I haven’t had any mechanical problems aside from the spark plugs so I’m fine dealing with interior damage. Where online would I be able to find this? Do you know of any?

those are clearly stickers you can buy off eBay that are made in China. Very low quality, low durability, low price.

All of the buttons can be repainted and stenciled. It is easier to buy original buttons off eBay or a scrap yard.

It’s quite interesting. The guy I bought it from mentioned the buttons were wearing off but never told me why or how. I’m curious to know though.

EBay, buy OEM buttons to avoid this from happening again.
I have a 2011 and it is nearly perfect.

Factory ordered 2012 MB C350 w/Dynamic Handling Package
The previous owner either had a pet, or had long nails and drove with their palms on the buttons. Both no no's on my book. My 2012's interior still looks new.

Yea, other than my steering wheel wrap, (for fun, aftermarket purpose) my car looks brand new. I have pfl but have never had issues with the buttons peeling, however I have seen that it is a common issue, not sure why

try car-part.com etc. for the buttons/controls

I have a '12 and a few of my buttons on the steering wheel and door locks are just starting to peel back. I'll try to order them when the buttons become unreadable. My leather drivers seat however had some large black mark on it when I bought the car (second hand). It was weird when I went to the dealer because in the photos online the mark wasn't there. It looks almost like the black case that goes over the manual was sitting on the seat in the blaring sun and fused to the seat and someone had the bright idea to tear it off. And of course I have the white "Ash" color seats so it stands out worse than any other color.

Anyone know where I may be able to pick up an entire bottom section of the seat? The ash color is hard to find.
