Cheap LED Upgrade???

Hi, I'm sure this has been covered before but just cant find the answers. I'm aware of the W204 (pre-facelift) and its shoddy headlights. I'm looking for a cheap LED replacement for the H7's. Can anyone help? There's a million on ebay but they seem to fit all cars but the merc! I know some will say upgrade to Xenon, or shouldve bought the car with better lights like I did (smug b'stds) but thats not helpful. Has anyone found any for under £30 that have worked and did you require any extra's?
Many thanks for your help in advance.

This is for a C250 BlueEff Sport 2010(W204) model with halogens.

I fitted my w204 PFL halogen with aftermarked H7 Leds, not even cheap ones. And it turned out quite **** tbh. The projectors just doesnt work with LED bulbs, you get a dark spot in the middle of the light. You are better off fitting an aftermarked 35w HID kit. Just be sure to get one with canbus or you will get broken bulb error. And the cheapest ones could ruin your projectors due to UV radiation or something like that.

Remember to lower your lights slightly if you do this, or you will blind everyone.

Many thanks for the quick reply. Will the HID kit not melt the housing? I've read so much on people saying to leave these alone? Also, will they pass an MOT?

They wont melt if you stick to an appropriate watt level, which is 35w. Never above that for low beams. Also dont get a really cheap kit, those could potentially ruin your lights as i said. Not sure if they would pass, might depend on where you are located. Here in Sweden they wont pass our yearly inspection, but its easy to just put the standard bulbs in before you go there.

If you haven't picked up ay HIDs yet you should connect with Mike @ AZN Optics... He is a sponsor here on the forum and is quite knowledgeable, mainly when it comes to W204 lighting but generally, anything W204 related.

Or check out his website @ http://www.aznoptics.com/

If you are going HID, from what I've hear you need 55w kit, the 35w kit will have issues and the ECU will have issues with them.

35W kit is fine. It really comes down to the resistance level in the canbus. 35W has more longevity than 55W due to lower heat. Also, depending on housing configuration, 35W is safer as 55W HID generates a large amount of heat which can potentially cause housing issues.

That makes sense, I just remember a thread where everyone was saying 35W wouldn't work but maybe that was for the fog light HID retrofit. My stock xenon HID's are indeed 35W themselves so my mistake.
