The w204 is a keeper. I will keep it and open my wallet to whatever it needs to get going on the road as I have not done that yet as that is how reliable it is. Then sell my stocks and buy the stupidest things in life can offer.....maybe a Maybach or 2.

i agree! I did this a long time ago not a lot of money but enough to buy some nice stuff, if I pull the money out now. Not sure how high it will go but if it was to end today, I'd be buying another high end watch and being happy. I wish I put all my money in but hey at least I caught it in time like Bitcoin hahaha.

I haven't had my 2014 C300 for long enough to want to trade it. However, I did move from a 2007 C230 so I did stay in the Mercedes family. I loved my 07, until I traded it for the 2014. Bigger engine, heated seats, navigation, bluetooth. I understand where you're coming from on agonizing about getting rid of it. Right now I say keep it if you're still happy driving it. Plus not having a car payment is nice.

That about sums it up for me. I remember the day I first drove the W204 just like it was yesterday. For years, I was madly in love with the car, and while I've teetered off from that is it's been a few years, no other car has made me feel the same way as when I first drove the W204. - I guess it's like the first time one is at a strip club, LOL. All subsequent visits just doesn't give you the same thrill, LOL.

Anyways my response to the whole "put your money in marijuana stock" - I disagree. I have a friend who did that who was going to buy a GLS, let's just say he hasn't bought the car yet. He lost a BUNCH of money buying high and hoping it goes higher..

That's not a black/white answer, but since it's so grey, am I better off keeping the money in the bank? I think so, lol.

There's this website which allows you to buy a lease or swap the lease of your car: www.swapalease.com
You might find a great deal here on higher end cars with the depreciation value already down to a reasonable price.

Here's a guy youtube talking about the website and him selling his S class there.

The W204 is a great car, very reliable and comfortable, but it certainly isn't for me. I have the C350 coupe, which is really the "jack of all trades" as its comfortable while being sporty. But its also the master of none, and I'm really itching to get rid of it. :/ Looking to get a new Porsche 718 Cayman S soon

I have an '09 C300 and I love it. It might have it's issues and probably didn't help when I got blinded by the sun a few years ago and now might have to replace a control arm. I've had very bad luck with tires. Since 2012/13 when I bought it, I've gone through 3 or 4 sets of tires. I'm hoping I'm good for a while because I love the handling on the tires I have now. It improved the driving dramatically. At least for me it did. Would be nice to improve the throttle lag but I can deal with it. The lights are a joke for a premium car. I purchased HID kits last night as they were on sell and I can't stand the lack of brightness with stock and it seems like I have to change out bulbs every other month or so.

My brother loves the w204 models. He doesn't care for the new generations. I don't mind them myself. The CLA45 and the C 63 S look nice but I don't want to pay the money for them. My C300 has been reliable except for my tire issues but thats just **** luck. Our dealer in OKC is moving locations starting Tuesday if I remember correctly so I don't know if I'll be able to get in to get my issue looked at right now. I also want to be able to see the new location. However, I can see why people would hold onto their w204's. Keep up with maintenance and have the look just the way you want it, why get rid of it?

If I had had a well optioned C300/350/63 I would have probably kept my car. But I'm very happy with my new ride.

I do miss my car though. I was horrified to see in the MyCarFax app that the Ford dealership gave her an oil change after trade. I didn't even let the Mercedes dealership do that. Do they keep the proper 229.5 spec oil at their shops???

Man I just bought my C350 and I really like the ride!

This might sound funny to some people but the main reason I got this car was because of pop up screen!

After 8 1/2 years, and spending mucho tiempo looking for and test driving substitutes, will probably keep the W204 for as long as practical. Still on the original brake pads and zero repairs to date (with the exception of a preventative replacement of the plastic belt tension roller).
The W205 looks dumpy and unexciting. The Alfa Guilia looks exciting but unproven reliability. Nothing new happening in BMW or Audi (have an E90 and an S5). Only interesting vehicle imho would be an E-Class Luxury, or would buy a used E400 Wagon if the W204 died.
If an EV fits your daily travel, CPO Tesla Model S run $40k. Or a Chevy Bolt, a family member has logged about 18,000 miles with zero issues or maintenance. Instantly quick, agile, more room and tech than the W204 in a tiny package - it's the future.

Oh, that was me, lol. I hope the Ford dealership didn't do that to my car after I traded it to them. You must know your oil types really well!

But I'm very much enjoying the 2018 GT.
