Exclamation Replacing the window switch cap/cover (not entire unit)

My driver side window switch has begun to chip. Is it true that the switch cap/cover can be removed easily and replaced (instead of the entire switch assembly)?

I don't want to use stickers or paint.

I found this video, but I am a bit skeptical.

Interesting ... so your button is chipped? I have an extra 2008 driver's side switch assembly and the corner of one of the buttons looks white, is that what happened to yours, the black surface/coloring is coming off?

Yes. All the buttons on my 2011 c300 are pristine except for that one single drivers side window button. The very top of the button is chipped and the white is showing. I've covered it in black paint for now.
