2012 C250 - Fault code P000277
Good Day Everyone,
So Sunday, my car was giving trouble to start but eventually did, and low and behold the engine light came on. I took it to the shop and they said the fault code P000277 related to the HPFP needed to be changed. Now mind you, the symptom was similar to last year when my chain tensioners gave out and the timing was off. After driving the car to the show, it return to normal and the engine light came off. Has anyone experience this? and replaced the HPFP? I replaced the tensioners last year.

You may conduct feel pressure test or obtain live stream data to assess the current fuel pressure. It's good to start with assessment to fuel pump located at tank and replace the fuel filter when deem fit. Mercedes-Benz HPFP is very reliable and may only fail when approached 80,000 miles and above.
My two cents.

On 1/09/21 my check engine light went on took it in to the Mercedes dealer they found code P000277. The quantity control valve malfunctioned. The removed the intake system and found the high pressure pump that was faulty. The high pressure pump was replaced with a new one due to the internal fault of the quantity control valve. Check engine light is off now and driving like a champ. Keeping fingers crossed.
