Headlight harness extension cable?




I would like to test some new headlights before installing them, but the cable it too short.

Its going to be an expensive endeavor if you really want to make the harness for this one time use. You need to buy the proper crimp tool, the terminals, the stranded copper wire, & the clutch blocks. If you don't buy the good crimping tools the terminals won't fit in the terminal block. I recently spent $250 for the proper crimpers (kctool), $50 for some terminals (digikey), and another $60 for a bunch of terminal housings (dealer) to do my own wiring.
You will proably spend around $10 for the terminals and another $10 for the terminal housings depending on where you go.

I thought i could just buy a cheap extension cable or as you suggested make one if the connectors are cheap (I assumed the connectors would come with pins). Not looking to spend lots of $$ on this effort. Looks like i am screwed.
Maybe i will install them right away, but its still cold out.
