Worn brakes - lag when braking after driving a while on the highway in the rain?
My brakes are fairly worn now, and they have about 3mm left in the front. That said, it's not quite time to replace them yet as I still have 1 mm or so left. That said, I have noticed now that after driving in the rain for a while, that there's about a 2-3 second delay between hitting the brake pedal and the car actually braking effectively. This has never been an issue until now. I know these cars have a "brake wipe" feature, and I can't say I have noticed this until now as mentioned. Could this be because the brakes are getting worn?
