Do I need Star after I replace the brakes?
I need to replace my brake disks and brake pads. Do I have to reset something in the car's computer? Do I need star diagnosis to do that? Or just replace the parts and I am good to go?

I forgot to mention that the sensor of the brake pads hasn't been reached so there is no error on the dashboard. So I guess it is not for resetting the sensor and the brakes warning message...
I am visiting an indie mechanic, what do I need to tell him? What has to be done?

I wouldn't replace the brake pads until the sensor activates because even when it does, there is still some life left in them.

Thank you for your answer. Plutoe wrote that STAR was needed but he didn't elaborate on that. I wonder what is right...
I am replacing the pads because the discs have 1-2 mm lip and I have to replace them. Pads are very cheap and they are close to their end so I do not want to pay twice for the same labor by replacing pads and discs separately.

Dol4er, we did the same on our '11 car a few weeks ago. Car had 64k miles, I think all the brake components were original and still had some service life left. We fitted new front rotors and pads, fitted fresh pads to the rear. No electronic interface needed, but the wear indicator had not worn thru.
