So I have a 2010 C350 4 matic (w204 pre-facelift if I'm correct) with the 3.5L v6 M272 engine right?
in 2010-11 the M272 engine was rated for 268hp in the specs sheet but then in 2012 it became 306hp?
how much power does my car actually make and if it's limited to 268 can I make it reach the 306?

You are correct. It makes 268. Buy a tune and you'll be close to 300.

 

but isn't a tune something like 800$?

 

I think $600 from eurocharged. There's no other way youre gonna get any more power out of that engine with that price. You can waste your time on intakes which won't really get you solid results, and only barely (if) any HP, not really any superchargers for sale, etc.

 

It became 302 hp in 2012 because the engine changed from M272 to M276 Direct Injection. It's not a software tune that MB did on the M272 that made it give more hp.

 

Completely different engines - the direct injection 3.5 is the Mercedes massaged version of the group effort Chrysler Pentastar V6 engine. There is nothing common with the M272 and the M276. One of the only good things Chrysler offered up in the relationship.
