IN THE MORNING I DROVE THE CAR FROM MY GARAGE AND THE BRAKE EBD,ABS AND ESC INOPERATIVE MESSAGE POPED UP ALONG WITH A POWER STEERING INOP ALSO ANYONE HAS EXPERICED THIS ON A 2010 C350 ???
You need to do more homework before you purchase a useless tool that can't read the MB body and chassis faults---find someone who can and report back with the faults

That's nearly always the failure of an ABS sensor: which senses wheel speed.

Thank you for your useless reply !!!! You have proven to me that your a dumbs *** and very disrespectful and you have no experience . Hi, I am wondering if the battery is due replacement as sometimes these sorts of intermittent problems appear when the battery is at end of life, hope this is helpful.
Thank you all for your reply. I had the time to plug in the scanner after the message popped up again and got these codes.
7208 , 6000, 6001, 5001
I have messages associated with these codes on my scanner
I don't have a C350 but a C220 diesel and have had exactly that problem. I think it was the battery. My battery failed I was advised by the service guy to get a battery of 720 CCA. When I went to buy the battery only 680 was available. A little while later I started to have that problem Mercedes service centre didn't know what was wrong but I remembered the battery and replaced it with one that had something like a 900 CCA. I have had no further problems and it is now about 12 months.
My next thing is to clean the ABS sensors and Ill test them also . Ill get back to you with the results. All those messages go away when I shut the car off and pop up as soon as I stat to drive the car. Thank you
I'm having this same problem (mostly anyway, except I have a check engine light on that happened within 10 mins of the ABS and EBD inop lights first coming on, but my power steering is fine). I created a thread but so far haven't been able to get an answer so I'm trying here.
I had a hard fault of these codes (as in they came on and stayed on as soon as I started the car while still in park) as well as an error that popped up once I hit 10mph. Had the codes scanned and as mentioned here, ABS sensor popped up. My battery also died around the time the lights came on fwiw. Replaced the battery but didn't get to the abs sensors for a bit and the car went into limp mode. Being stuck at home I ordered the sensors and installed them, which fixed the limp mode as well as the error code that popped up once I hit 10mph, but the hard fault for the ABS/EBD/check engine is still on. Does this just have to be cleared with a scanner or is there another way to reset?
Good morning I just cleaned all for ABS wheel sensors no help still getting message as I start to drive. Replaced all four sensors problem fixed.!!!!
Thank you all for your feed back
Hello Tonygh69! I have a 2010 C300 sports 4matic and i have the same problem after i almost floored the gas pedal, arrived to my destination, turned off the car, went in and out started car. a few feet, the ESC INOPERATIVE SEE OPERATOR'S MANUAL appeared along with the orange warning light. the wiper didn't worked. i already replaced the battery with a 1132cca. i will try replacing the ABS sensors.
I am having the same problem on my 2008 C350. I get the ABS inoperative message after driving a short distance. I just replaced the battery, but that didn't fix it. My mechanic checked the codes and said that there was a communications drop between the ABS system and the rest of the car. I'm not sure what that means. Any ideas?
After my mechanic scanned the computer box of my C300, it showed a faulty brake light switch. After replacing it, everything went back to normal. You may not get straight answers from the dealers so try going to other after sales shops that do scans. Also now I wait about 10 seconds after I switch on the car before starting it to give the the computer time read/recognize all connections or programs and not cause a misfire or fault during the trip.
Very informative thread. My wife's GLK350 just got the "EBD,ABS, ESP Inoperative" message. I'll check the abs sensors and probably just replace. Thanks!
As mentioned above by other members, EBD, ABS, ESP have one thing in common - wheel speed sensor (also known as ABS sensor). There are 4 wheel speed sensors, one for each wheel. It is highly unlikely that all 4 sensors are at fault. Most likely, one of the sensors is out of line. If you have littlebit of time and a basic multimeter, you can read the resistance at each of the wheel speed sensor connection. You will likely find one of the sensor's measurement will be different from others. Replace that single sensor, that's it.
In some cases, brake light switch can contribute to this issue. Brake light switch is relatively inexpensive and relatively easy to replace.
Hi there. I have C320 CDI 2008. Today I had the same problem. Before that there was no problem, I went to the electrician for mirrors to turn on the computer, he erased all errors. After his visit, I returned home and these errors appeared. Q: Can this just happen after erasing errors, or is this just a coincidence and as you mentioned earlier that there could be ABS sensors? P.S. When these errors appeared, the power steering disappeared. And my wheels dont have run flat sensors.

I had the same lights, I scanned the car checking each wheel speed sensor while in motion was still reading fine. I played around my scan tool and found the brake light switch was tripping detecting NO/OFF/NA repeatedly. I ended up replacing the break switch (stoplight switch) and resolved my issue.

yeah. Mine happened when my car was dormant/idle (I went 5 days without driving my car). Driving without power steering enabled is uncomfortable... but after 3-4 days, the error disappeared and things were back to normal.
I think the sensors' power supply was low. or something like that.
