As I am still searching for a silver 2012 C300 4MATIC to buy, I have a question regarding the COMAND option codes when decoding VINs.
I am aware that the Harman/Kardon LOGIC7 system is part of Premium 1 Package and I know that the 7" screen and the hard-drive-based navigation and rearview camera are part of the Multimedia Package.
What is confusing me are the different option codes found on different cars listed:
512 COMAND APS WITH DVD CHANGER
523 RADIO AUDIO 20
527 COMAND DVD APS WITH NAVIGATION
Does the above mean that:
523 AUDIO 20 is a car without Premium 1 and without Multimedia
512 COMAND APS WITH DVD CHANGER is a car with Premium 1 and without Multimedia
527 COMAND DVD APS WITH NAVIGATION is a car with Premium 1 and with Multimedia
Please feel free to correct me so that I get to the bottom of this.
I don't know if this will help or confuse but here is the window sticker from my 2012 which I ordered in April of 2012 (it didn't arrive until mid June). I just now noticed
when I looked at the scan that it lists a Single Disc CD player under "Comfort/Convenience" but it has the six disc listed under MM package.

Thanks a lot for posting this. It's actually very helpful and nice options you have there. It's basically fully loaded except for the rear airbags (code 293).
What I noticed though is that your car has the P1 and the Multimedia Package yet when I decoded the VIN, it listed 512 - COMAND APS WITH DVD CHANGER whereas based on what xEryx said, it should have been 527 - COMAND DVD APS WITH NAVIGATION.
Here is the document that I signed off on when I placed the order. Some of the options came as a result of the way they bundle things. I wanted leather, lignting package, blind spot, parktronic (for the wife but I find it handy also), and unfortunately one doesn't get to choose only those items. Does drive up the cost as you can see. Only real disappointment is I thought the leather would be a darker shade of brown. Looks closer to the Almond Beige. Grey would have been my first choice but it is too light-closer to white then black-for my tastes. Been pretty happy all in all. One failed headlight assembly, one air pump, and one thermostat.All fixed under warranty. About to take it in for 70K service.

Of course they won't let you individually select the options you want since they bundle them in "packages" so that they can make money.
Take for example the Xenon Headlights. They are $1290 over the halogen headlights. Just imagine how much profit they are making there.
The options I am looking for are: Sport trim (obviously), COMAND, Black interior, Silver exterior (775). The rear-view camera, keyless-go, and parking sensors would be great additions to have but not necessary as I can install the camera and the sensors myself.

Yeah i stayed away from 2013-2014 to avoid these earlier M276.
Do a google search for M276 HPFP failures and carbon buildup. That'll make a good reading for what MIGHT come ahead.

I decoded this VIN (WDDGF8BB0CR239189) and this car has 523 Audio 20 and 810 Sound System. Does that mean it has the P1 which means HK as well but no COMAND obviously?
UPDATE: Nevermind. I found another car with 523 Audio 20 but without 810 HK so I answered my own question from above.

I found a car with 218 Rear Camera, 810 HK Sound, and 527 COMAND DVD APS WITH NAVIGATION. Based on the above and the fact that it has 527, it shouldn't have 810 so any idea which package combination lead to this? It has 889 keyless go as well by the way.
The fact that is has the 810 sound and the heated seats tells me that it has P1 and the fact that it has the rear camera and the large screen tells me that it has MM --all while having 527 instead of 512.
ok so all this is confusing. I have 2014 E250 AMG with COMAND DVD APS WITH NAVIGATION. I asked for a quote from the MB dealership for a rear camera to be fitted and they replied that it was not possible on my car. A huge shock since I need one.
