Considering installing a wireless backup camera that is triggered by a backup light input. Do any of the experts here have any experience in this area? My concern is a possible Canbus alarm due to an extra load. What does the Forum Think?

It probably depends on the camera that's used. If the entire thing is powered from the backup light, then yes, it could conceivably cause issues. I'd imagine that most backup cameras set up this way would only use voltage from the light as a signal, therefore drawing next to nothing. If you find a product that gets good reviews, I'd say go for it. There's lots of cars these days that monitor those sorts of lights so chances are good that someone would've run into that problem before with a given product.

That said, no personal experiences, sorry.

So, first passing a cable front back to front is the easy part. Forget the wireless camera and go for the cable! Less of a problem!
Get a CCD 170º camera! Dont buy a CMOS camera. Much better and durable! Get power from fuse 71 next to rear sam (constant power). Add a fuse.

And thats it!
