2008 Mercedes c300 4Matic will not start

I went to start my car and nothing absolutely nothing. Originally thought it was the battery so I jump started it and of course it cranked but I didn’t crank it using the correct post instead of using the recommended section. Anyway after I cranked my car I took it and had the battery tested and the battery was fine but I got it home turned it off and several hours later put the key in and nothing again. I’m at a loss. I know something was wrong when it wouldn’t cranck the second time and nothing came on...no lights, no dinging of the door being open; nothing! On top of it I’m afraid I damaged something else buy jumping it off incorrectly Any ideas, recommendations

I am not sure I understand what all ^^^that^^^ means?

And when you say you tested your battery, did they just check the voltage? Or did they "load test" the battery?

The simple fact that when you jump started it is started OK, leaves no doubt its an electrical system issue. The fact that it died again a couple of hours after being parked might suggest a bad battery that is not holding a charge, a bad alternator that is not properly recharging it, or bad terminals on either the battery or the alternator.

Check with either a repair shop or an auto parts store about retesting your battery but also testing your alternator. While performing either or both of those tests, the terminals associated with each can be checked at the time as well.

There is also a third possibility simply described as a "parasitic draw" which means one or more component is not turning off when the engine is shut off and the key is removed. This will result in draining the battery and in turn, causing starting problems.

Good luck!

Two months ago it locked and I did the trick to jar the steering wheel hard and it unlocked itself. I then took off for 45 days to LA and just got back home to Miami yesterday. Today the car did it again and steering is locked. I tried my hardest to move the steering wheel but no go. I'll try the hammer trick this weekend when I can tow the car to a buddies house to work on it. If that doesn't work them looks like I have to take the drilled and make the small whole and then move the gear??? What about just buying a steering column that has the ESL and its not locked. I found on ebay couple for around $150. I would take it then my key needs to be programmed to do to talk to the EIS to unlock the ESL?? Can a mobile locksmith do the programming ? I know my girl lost her key to her BMW and guy programmed her new key for her. Im just not paying the dealership 1500 when its a 5.00 little motor.

Could be the crankshaft position sensor if the car was warm. Otherwise, being a 2008, steering wheel lock failure is likely.

Drilling isn't too hard and it's easier to just replace the motor, as programming will cost you another couple hundred dollars.
