ESP Failure
Hello! I have a 09 w204 C350 Sport and as I was driving out of my parking lot at work, the esp, abs, and power steering warning lights went on saying, that they're not operative.
I took it to my mechanic and he did a quick error code check and told me that I need a new esp module. $1300+ is kind of expensive and as I was browsing online for alternative causes that stop esp/abs, it looks like a faulty brake light switch or wheel sensor could trigger the error as well.
Two days ago, I had my whole set of tires replaced at a tire shop (I looked at yelp reviews after I dropped my car after an hour and some reviews said that they don't know how to work on German cars)
I'm curious if there is a specific error code for esp if I needed to switch out a brake light switch or if I needed to replace a wheel sensor. My mechanic is a new owner since the old one retired recently but he is very friendly and honest. Just not entirely sure if there is room for troubleshooting other potential errors. I don't want to spend over 1300$ just to see the same error popping up due to a different issue.

He is probably quoting you a complete hydraulic unit. I have done plenty and I only replace the actual ESP control module. Once installed you have to program and code it online. A used one I think will not work.
