AC/Fan controls all seem fine, no erratic behaviour on lights/switches/etc... just no air blowing through vents (front or back).
If I turn the car off then on with the "AUTO" button pressed before I turn it back on everything works fine...YAY! But...if I try to change the fan speed or anything for that matter the fan stops working.
I'm hoping that I am describing this issue correctly....
From what I'm reading around the internet, it seems like this is a "Blower Motor Resistor" issue ...right?
($150 CAD)? I called the dealership in anticipation that this is the problem, and it costs about $650 CAD for the part ( YIKES!)...or even a used one from someone parting a w204 out. I rarely stray away from OEM parts, but as the car is getting longer in the tooth.....not sure if its worth the investment
I'm going to check with my mechanic tomorrow, but I'd like to go in with some idea.
