LED Bulbs.
I was wondering what, or if any of you changed your stock headlight bulbs for aftermarket LED bulbs. I have a 2009 c300 with projectors. I live in an area with a lot of nature preserve wich has loads of wild animals and I really like to have bright lights. I did this in my F150 but my truck doesn't have a system that can sense when a light is out and I know changing certain things on Mercs can throw codes. My car already tells me to check my passenger front running light but it still works. I don't want to have a constant code when I drive it. If any of you changed out your bulbs, what brand did you get? I was just going to stick to the brand I bought for my truck. Thanks for listening.

Sweet, also, I had one more question, I listen at a.m. radio a lot and the fans on my truck light sometimes give off interference. This shouldn't be a problem on a Merc because of better insulated wires in the radio?

Although LEDs will be better than halogens, you're better off going with an hid solution. It comes down to the housing which is better equipped to capture and project HID 360 light spread than LED surface mounted light spread. LEDs will result in dark spots and light scatter. Whichever direction you go, make sure it's canbus enabled. We carry led solution and Morimoto HID solution that will work plug and play for you if interested.

What about the big size fan base? It seems the H7 retaining spring can't go over the fan to secure the bulb?

well the lights I bought came apart. The light twisted out of the seat that the clip would clip to. I actually dropped this piece in the headlight housing and luckily got it out with a coat hanger. You put it in, stretch the clip over it and then incert the bulb and turn to lock the light into the seat. The I barely got the back cover back on. On another note, the bulbs I bought are not that bright. I have the projector lights and even with the four sided LED, they are not even as bright as the halogens I took out.

I'd think halogen bulb gets dim with time, correct? I remember when I bought car new, it was brighter than it is now. High heat burns the filament little by little?

My H7 LED bulb and fan can't be separated so no way for low beam. I used them for high beam. The high beam pattern is not bad at all and so bright. Then I used the high beam H7 halogen to replace the 7+ year old low beam H7. Now the headlight shines twice as far just like when I bought it new.
The old H7 glass is smoky from the slowly burnt filament, plus the filament gets thinner over time, its resistance gets higher and wattage gets lower...
