Tire Size and fitment

I found some wheels on Craigs list that are a good price, I am looking to replace the stock wheel on mine. These they said came off of a s430 and the dimensions are 225/55/r17. So they will fit my w204, but will be a little skinnier in the rear I assume? Would be a good fit on my car? I would obviously have to get a lower profile tire to fit on my car.

Going to need more information than that. Offsets in particular.

Also they look hideous, I'd choose OEM's ANY day over those glorified steelies. But whatever floats your boat.

Edit: looking closer, they're literally Plasti dipped. That doesn't make a wheel bad, but if youre looking because they're black, look elsewhere. The inside of the barrel is hopefully caked to death with brake dust and not some kind of rust. However the inside of the bolt holes I doubt would be in good condition. That goes for the whole wheel.

They said the offset os ET42. They are stock Merc wheels that are aluminum. I know a powder coater that can refinish them in any color I want. They look like they bought rim paint from an auto parts store and painted them. I like these because the are Merc OEM and five spoke.

Tire sizes for winter tires for 16 inch rims

Hey guys Im new on this board so not 100 percent sure how it works, but I値l give it a try. I currently have 4 winter tires on my w204 size 205/55r16 (came with the car) I currently want to put 225/50/r16 I知 looking on
sites and I see other sizes that fit besides the suggested staggered sizes that require 17 inch. I知 trying to find sizes that I can put on with the 16 inch rims that I have. Just wanted to have a thicker tire the 205 size seems to small for heavy loads.

This is what I found for other sizes. But not sure if it痴 legit.

Firstly, the new set you are referring to is not thicker, it's wider. In fact, it's actually a thinner tire.

205 is referring to the width of the tire. A 225 tire is wider.
55/50 is referring to the sidewall height of the tire.

Secondly, will it work? Probably (just looking at tire sizes right now).
