Mercedes 2008 C350 4matic - Steering difficult to turn/steer
Hello,
Model: 2008 C350 4matic, sport suspension, 203,000KM, well maintained
Last month I found that the steering wheel was difficult to turn at both low and high speeds. I also noticed play (minor play meaning I could turn the wheel 1-2mm without it turning the tires, which has now gone away).
It takes a lot more effort now than it did before at any speed. Randomly, especially in the morning and cold starts, it seems fine for about a minute but then goes back to being stiff.
I've so far replaced the steering coupling and also the steering fluid in the rack/pump without any luck and same symptoms. Could this possibly be a a speed sensor or am I looking at a whole new steering rack?
Thanks in advance for your help.
