2011 C220 cdi sedan

Limp mode

2011 C220 cdi. Car goes into limp mode when starting up in the morning. Temp gauge does not move. After driving for a few kms, temp gauge moves up and car returns to normal. What's gone wrong?

how you know its in limp mode?
is your rev limited to 2700rpm? would be strange the car stops limp mode during driving
