W204 central display

Hello,

I have S204 C220 CDI T Elegance BlueEFFICIENCY, 2013. I saw on the internet that there are two versions of display size. A 5.8-inch 400x240 display is standard with Audio 20 and also 7-inch 800x480 Comand APS. There is not much written on the internet. Can anyone please explain if there is any difference beside size of the screen? A year of manufacture of a car has nothing with this. You can find a car that is 2011year with bigger screen than 2013...

And the second question.. Is it possible to replace 5.8-inch with 7-inch display?

Here is the link that I found so far: https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/pictur...ft-hands-on/5/

Comparison

Many thanks.

7" comes with the COMAND NTG4.5
5.8" comes with the audio 20/50 APS versions.
I'm not sure if the audio APS module supports the screen resolution for the 7"

you can replace it for sure. question is if you want to replace it to have the 800x480 resolution or just to have a bit bigger screen?

Because of the bigger screen, of course.

The Audio 20 with the 5.8 inch display is in the base model with the Becker Map Pilot unit in the glovebox. The COMAND Online with the 7 inch screen is an optional item, and standard in the mid-range models and beyond. It has inbuilt navigation.

There are big differences between the two systems - COMAND has 10GB music space, SD card slot, voice activated commands, internet browser, weather app, and of course bigger screen and better resolution.

No idea if the screens are compatible. You would need the facia panel also as I believe the bezel housing the screen is a different size.

Yes you can replace it. All you need is from the other version 7inch display and facial panel. That's all I've done this before many times. You will get bigger screen and better resolution. It's worth it.

And do you have part numbers for everything that has to be replaced thank you in advance and i have a 2014 c300 4matic sport with the smaller screen.

hm.. it should work. I don't know why it doesn't work. Otherway others with aftermarket 10.25" display also wouldn't be able to connect it, but they did it. Let us know if you figure out. Thanks.
