Repair Cost? (Help)
I was driving my fathers 2011 Mercedes C300 4Matic (W204) on an icy road. I made a left turn on a small intersection going around 20 - 30kmh when the car under steered and hit the right wheel (which was turning left) into a curb. No body damage was done except for the rim but noticed mechanical damage as the right wheel is slightly turned to the right when the steering wheel is centered. The car is also telling me ESP/traction is off which is not normal because there is a whole process to turn it off. My friends tell me my control arm is damaged and need to have a wheel alignment done and a replacement for the 17" Factory OEM Rim. My friend actually had a similar accident on his Toyota Sienna which they payed around 2 grand to repair. I do not know who my father talked too (maybe benz) but is telling me repair cost is around 7 grand. Is this true? Im worried we might be getting scammed.

If you took it to a MB Dealer, be prepared to pay top dollar. They will charge you $150 (if you're lucky) just to hook it up to a code reader and run a pre scan, then most likely $80 after they fix any issue as a post scan precaution.
If you can tote the car around, get 2 or 3 quotes and compare prices. Just be up front with who you take it to, tell them what you want and make sure they aren't taking advantage of you.
