Replacement clock spring?

Hi folks.

New to the forum, so apologies in advance if in asking a common question!

My steering wheel is clicking when I turn right, and squeaking when I turn left! There doesn't appear to be any change in the steering performance, other than this frustrating nose.

A friend reckons it may be the clock spring needs replacing. Does this sound right, and is it a common fault?

Are there any considerations when replacing around positioning etc. so as to not affect reaction control/steering?

Also, I've no idea where to source one? Happy for it to be second hand as I'm likely selling to upgrade to a newer model shortly.

Any help hugely appreciated, as it's driving me nuts!

And yes mark your spline shaft so you return the wheel to the previous correct position

Wouldn’t you need a new steering control unit? Between the steering wheel and the column?
