Inoperative Fault Help

Hello, Any help here appreciated. I have seen several variations of this issue.

I get this fault when the car is cold.

When this inoperative fault comes on we still have steering and brakes, but the gas pedal does not increase engine speed at all. The engine remains running, but will not accelerate. To clear the fault, we just restart and everything works fine. This will keep happening until the temp gauge has been over 80C for several minutes. Once the car temp has remained over 80C for say 5 minutes, turn off then back on and it will never happen again until it cold starts. This never happens when starting the car at over 80C temp.

I would think IF there is some control electrical component issue, I would have the problem during both hot or cold operation. Does anyone have any DIY suggestions? 2014 C300 4matic.

Below is a pic of the fault. Note that after this restart it never happens again until the car stops and cools down. It happens every time the car is started cold and while warming up to 80C. Thanks!

You need to get the codes read to work out where the problem lies....

That’s the ESP (traction control) symbol, and your symptoms indicate characteristics of what ESP does when activated. I agree with alecmascot’s post.

You need the codes...... but I can predict you will have an issue with the accelerator pedal. But check/diagnose first.
