Noise. Finally took a video
I took a video of the gurgling sound that the Mechanic’s say is normal. Every time a new person gets in the car they ask what is that noise. I always said I was told it was normal. I decided to take a video once and for all to see if you guys and gals think it’s a normal sound. Not the turbo whine. Listen for the gurgling noise. Can’t hear it outside the car. Only inside under acceleration. If it’s normal then fine but I need to know
I posted this in the coupe section please delete that post if possible. I was told no one ever goes there anymore.

Oh wait, its a 4cyl c250.. I'm not sure then, those engines are crap, unfortunately, the mechanic is probably right.
No offense but the v6 is a much better engine for these cars, even the sound is 10x better/smoother with a v6. I've heard some of these 1.8L engines in the c250s and they sound horrible. Don't worry yourself about the noise, its most likely normal, I would plan instead on trading it for a v6 however in the near future.
What you hear is the turbocharger which is located on the passenger side.

ill put it up on ramps later and poke around with a prybar to see if the sound changes. Can’t hear it at all outside the car. It’s strange.

I pulled each coil one at a time and they all change the way the engine runs so I don’t believe it’s a misfire. Put the car on jacks and nothing seems to be hitting underneath. If it’s the way it supposed to be then I’ll live with it.

I’m leaning towards exhaust leak somewhere around the cat
if I use a leaf blower or a fog machine (I have one from Halloween). Will any of this hurt the motor as long as it’s cold.

Hi, that sounds like an intake roar to me. If its not normal or to loud, I will check/remove the aircleaner system and have a look whats going on there. To me it does not sound like an exhaust leak, or a misfire.
One hear this exact type of a sound where aircleaners are replaced with aftermarket filters, I mostly heard it on VW's.

You will have to know how the intake should be, and then determine if it was altered in any way. I would go for a ride in a similar car for a start. I would not dare to ask if they forgot to put in the new airfilter, or it came loose in the housing-?

That is very typical sound for your car. Watch this video at the end starting at 7:43 and you'll hear the engine revving and the turbo blow by valve noise, particularly at 7:58.
I wouldn't stress over it.

Everything that you hear isn't true. Take for example, most of the people who speak out against the M271 have early model W204's with V6 engines. Nearly all of said people, you included, have never owned the engine that you speak of.
OP - the sound is definitely not normal

I meant I heard all good things about it. So just the opposite.
