C250 engine (high milage)

Are there any high milage C250's on the roads? My four cylinder (M271 Evo) engine has more than 159,000 miles and is still running like new.

I am also there in the high mileage club, however, I can't say its been a breeze or without issues.

I do regular oil changed, air filter and also spark plugs, but I have rough idle, valve cover gasket had to be replaced, carbon buildup loss in fuel economy etc.
Probably my largest concern is a noisy timing chain which might be to failing camshaft sprockets and let's not forget the PCV hose that rips/fails.

Let's make this thread a guide on what to whats out for bud happy that things have been going well for you!

Mercedes C250 Coupe
My C250 coupe is interested in the two previous posts - - - ergo a coupe with nearly 160,000 miles. What issues - if any - were noted during this time?

Thanks in advance,

ez

Hey there! Glad you joined the thread. Currently trying to figure out if my camshaft adjusters have gone bad, as well as the transmission having rough downshifts, despite having reset the TCU

My 2013 C 180 (1.6 L (1,595 cc) (M270/M274 DE16)) has 151 306 KM (94 017 miles). Not exactly high mileage but in South Africa it is considered relatively high. I have owned the car since 2019 and got it with 98 000 km and I must say its been relatively smooth sailing. A month into ownership I encountered my first and only serious issue. I was driving it hard, chasing my brother on the highway when suddenly notified me that there was smoke in the cabin, panicking, I quickly pulled over and we both exited in fear of a fire. Fortunately I discovered that it was gearbox oil leaking onto the now very hot exhaust. The car was towed to the dealer and after a week I collected the car. I was informed that another dealer who previously performed a gearbox service had incorrectly installed one of the seals resulting in it failing under the conditions. Apart from that and a couple of weeping fuel lines and a bad airconditioning pump, the car has been mechanically sound. One of my only complaint with the drivetrain is the gearbox. When driving aggressively it is slow to respond, however, the big issue I have had is when driving between 45-50 KM/H and using the kickdown function and the car will shift from 3rd gear to first which has in 2 instances resulted in the engine going past redline.

Otherwise I love the car.

you ever remedy the rough idle? Mine does the same for cold start. Idles up and down a bit. Might even have an occasional misfire if it’s really cold. New plugs, coils, valve cover gasket ect. 145,000 miles

as far as things to watch for. The turbo oil line leaking which has a thread on this site as well.
