Runflat indicator inoperative

Hi,

Have C-class T-model (S204), 200CDI, year 01/2010 and I got few times ABS/ESP ECU error occur: "5001 - N30/4 (Electronic Stability Program control unit) internal fault".

All four wheels have correct ABS sensors, tyre pressure is ok, I put also new battery not so long ago and when this error appear it disables: Power steering, ABS, ESP, EBD and Cruise Control and on driving computer display it is shown "Runflat indicator inoperative".

This happened to me again one week ago and I went to a longer trip (hoping it will repair itself magically as it did few times before). Drove about 600km and when returning, after refueling the tank and stopping at gas station, the error was gone miraculously.

At service they are also confused, I checked and found that ECU part for ABS is A2045453832 but I don't want to replace it because I am not sure it will solve the problem. And it repairs itself after few days.

This strange behavior happened to me at least 8 times in the past 7 years and this error just disappeared automatically by itself (after some time) and few times I used OBD tool to clean this error and it worked then normally.

Do you have any idea how to permanently fix this issue?
Apparently unit A2045453832 works again after few days from error occurrence and then I can drive for whole year without an error.

Hate this error, especially when I am on a longer trip and without ABS, ESP, Cruise Control and Power steering.

I have replaced the ESP control module plenty of times for this code... It is literally and internal fault.

Question:
But if it repairs itself after few days, is this an error then? I could understand spending around 750€ for something that stays in "Internal fault" forever, but in my case it lasted maximum 5 days.

Concern:
I wouldn't like to spend 750€ on ESP ECU and to see this error come back for some other reason.

Hi,

I just bought the new part, replaced it and it is all good now. It is not cheap, in my country they wanted 1.300€ for it but I found it and bought it from Germany directly (from company www.bald.de) and I paid it around 900€ + posting costs and they told me they will buy my old dysfunctional part for 135€, so I got the part for around 780€ + work of my mechanic.

Best and good luck
Alex
