I recently measured the weight of my summer set of wheels out of curiosity and compared them to the weight of the original AMG 17 wheels, which I use in the winter, and I was surprised by the results. Summer set of wheels are WSP Italy 19x8 225/35 and 19x9 255/30, weight of wider wheels is 32 lbs without tire compared to OEM AMG 17x7.5 225/45 which are 20.5 lbs without tire. Although the car has 400 lbft of torque, the feeling of the heavier wheels is like I have three extra people in the car while accelerating, and with lighter wheels feels like it accelerates more effortlessly, it just feels lighter during accelerations especially on higher speeds.
I am interested in buying these 18 inch wheels as a replacement for the summer set of wheels and I would like to know does somebody know weight of these wheels? 1.
