2012 C300 sport sedan COMAND SYSTEM
I have now changed a new battery as the old one was well...getting old and start to show signs (brake hold not working). My situation happened after a day where I was in the parking lot waiting with music playing for about half 45mins; then the second day I was checking the socket size for the battery (removing battery for a friend so I just wanted to make sure I had the correct tools), but I did NOT remove the bolts, only test for the right size.
Then that afternoon, my comand system would go into a loop and keep restarting every 30secs or so, there would be a few second gap where I can still hit the radio/navi/disc buttons to change function but freeze after that (can still hear audio from radio, gps loaction is never correct). A shop I go to said I needed radio code, but I see no options to enter one. I went to MB services and asked for one, and was told that my car did not require radio codes anymore.
It is really frustrating....I thought it would be battery related as it happened after the signs of an old battery.
Does anyone have suggestions or I should just bring it in to MB services. Diagnostic is $250...I'd hate it to be just a simple fix that I haven't tried.
Thanks for any inputs (if any).

It was battery drain due to bad light switch.
Then I did HU reset after that it back to normal.
I forgot exactly what I've done, but just simply go to setting or in engineer menu do the reset,
It will erase all settings and reset everything.
Just try it.

Try reset here in SYS menu.
If you unable access the menu due to system hang,
Try disconnect car battery for 10s then connect back again,
See if you have any luck...
If still fail then you will need Xentry to reset by computer.
