Tips on getting threaded ESL screws out

My ESL failed and I got everything unlocked but to open the actual ESL "box" to change the motor I can't get 2 of the screws out. I even have the "special" screw driver but two of the screws got threaded. Any tips on how to get them out?

Thank you

It was quite difficult for me as well.

I used a T5 torx I think, and lightly hammered it into the hole. Once secured, I used some pliers and gently twisted it counterclockwise/upwards.

Some YouTube videos do the same

I've tried that but when I turn it upwards the torx just ends up coming out. It only turns when I turn it downwards but that is just turning in place/going in...tad bit freaking out.

My car has been down for almost 2months now :/

Might need to buy a t5 torx b/c it seems like it will big bigger than this "special" screwdriver and that might fit in tighter? I got two of them out but this other 2 I think I might have messed them up

I still have not been able to get 2 of the screws out. I tried super glueing an t5 and a t6 screw into it and then turning them after they have dried. The glue end up coming lose and the screw drive end up coming out.

The screw driver turned...maybe I'm turning it the wrong way? This is driving me insane and I can't get my car fixed without it :,(

Any tips?

Oh no! I hope you have been able to drive another car...you might have to drill them out if they are that bad or take it to a mechanic or alarm shop and have them do it

Drill them out or use a tap set.

5 months without a car because of 2 screws? You could have just taken the unit to a shop and had them remove the screws on Day 2....

I would try to make "centrehole" in the screw head with a dremel-diamond sharp tip, so the drill-tip does not walk around on the screw.
