Auxiliary Battery?

Auxiliary Battery?
Hi, searched for info on 2nd battery but might have missed the thread. Do we have an auxiliary battery in the trunk for something? Replaced original battery after 10 years (would've lasted longer had I not killed it so many times) and was wondering if there's a little battery to change out too.

When I bought my 2011 C300 Sports, I found in the trunk close to passenger side seat back, there is this rectangular shaped place. Dealer said "it was for the battery, now battery is moved to the front". He didn't say that is the secondary battery. I have no idea what he said is true or not.

Cars with the "ECO" start/stop function do have an auxillary battery in the right side of the trunk. It's purpose is to power the car's accessories while the engine's off.
